Should I Buy A Kia Sportage

The Sportage is a two-row SUV that fits in between the Seltos and the three-row Telluride in the Kia lineup. This is an option that has managed to hang tough in the highly competitive compact SUV segment of the market. In fact, it is currently in its fourth generation, which started in 2017. In many ways, the 2021 Sportage is the whole package. There are a few glaring exceptions, however, that should not be overlooked. So what does it get right, and what are the areas it can improve?

The new Sportage is longer and wider than its predecessor. Measuring 183.5 inches from bumper to bumper, it is 7.1 inches longer than the previous generation. Its wheelbase has also increased by 3.4 inches, reaching 108.5 inches. The SUV's 73.4-inch width is only 0.4 inches bigger than its predecessor, but the deeply curved shoulders, more muscular sides, and horizontal front and rear bumper pieces give it the appearance of a considerably wider stance.

Nota bene my caveat above: "when properly equipped." Adding all-wheel drive to the Sportage Hybrid dings the EPA-rated fuel economy down to 38mpg. Still a solid figure, but not quite the mythical over-forty number that sets hearts a-flutter. Still, nothing short of full-throttle racing (of which I did precisely zero since this is, you know, a family crossover) seemed to affect the consumption. That 38mpg figure seems accurate to me, and should lead to roughly 500 miles of range should you choose to stretch both that 13.7-gallon fuel tank and your bladder.

Should the Big Gulp not summon you from the seat too quickly, the interior of the Sportage Hybrid is a lovely place to spend some time. Leg, head, and shoulder room front and rear are stellar; Kia proudly notes that the 41.3 inches of rear legroom is more commodious than vehicles in the next class size up from a number of competitors. Cargo capacity, even with the rear seats occupied, is similarly excellent with 39.5 cubic feet of space.

The Kia extended warranty is an optional vehicle protection plan designed to keep you from paying for unexpected car repairs after your factory warranty expires. Below are high-level details you should know about Kia protection plans.

Owners of select Model Year 2017-2021 Kia Sportage and Cadenza vehicles should park their cars outside and away from homes until their vehicles have been repaired, due to a new recall for the risk of fire.

Vehicle owners can visit NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter their 17-digit vehicle identification number to see if their vehicle is under recall. If it is, vehicle owners should call their nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free interim repair.

If you're ready to upgrade your drive and are looking for deals on new compact SUVs for sale, you're probably getting close to deciding between the new Kia Seltos vs. Sportage. But which one should you choose?

It's a shame that most of the people above appear to be anti-Korean when talking about cars. We don't have a British car industry now in the UK; all of our British car makers are now in foreign hands. So its changed our attitude towards buying a car. Firstly you do not and should not have to pay for "Quality". The quality of cars produced by our car industry when it existed was not in line with customer needs; one of the reasons why it is not here now. Quality is what the customer expects; their expectations are what the manufacturer needs to get right to sell their products. Secondly, you need "Reliability" in a car. Here in the UK KIA offer a 7 year / 100,000 mile warranty; they obviously have confidence that their product will meet their customers requirements. In the UK we are having to wait 18 weeks for delivery of a factory ordered Kia Sportage (made in Slovakia).I think you lads and lassies will have to face up to the fact that the Koreans are beginning to make cars that are attracting lots of buyers. 041b061a72
